Asha Parekh plays an unmarried woman in her 30s, past what society considered the marriageable age. Her younger sister played by Bindiya Goswami has a fiancée Mithun Chakraborty. She feels guilty that she is about to have a happy married life, while her older sister will be all alone by herself. She sets out to find a husband for her. When she sees her sister admire Utpal Dutt on television, she brings him into their lives. Unfortunately, Utpal Dutt falls for Bindiya Goswami and isn't aware that Asha Parekh has fallen in love with him. How Bindiya untangles herself from this situation and gets Utpal Dutt and Asha Parekh together forms the rest of the story.

Ever since Badal was an eight year old, he's been in love with violence. As a role model, he chooses the local mafia leader Bachcha Babu. As he grows up, Badal's passion for becoming like Bachcha Babu increases. One day, by chance, he gets the opportunity to join Baccha Babu's gang. Megha's father, Sharmaji, who is a government school teacher, finds out that Badal is bothering Megha. Bachcha Babu assures the journalist that from now on Badal will not disturb Megha and her family. In the course of events Bachcha Babu bumps into Megha and finds that he wants her for himself - at any cost. Bachcha Babu goes to the extent of killing his own wife to marry Megha.

Was the only official entry from India for the Oscar awards at Los Angeles in the shorts section-in 2003 -it competed in the honorary foreign film category. The short film “Notes On Her” inspired by Mahashweta devi's 'DRAUPADI AND BASHAI TUDU'. - is about a journalist’s memory of a rebel called Dopdi who never seems to die. It’s an experimental film not following a strict narrative structure and is highly visual with a complimenting sound track which enhances the film’s dark atmosphere. The film was shot in black and white and printed on color to achieve the dark, high contrast, gritty images.
